【開催報告】東京マラソン2024チャリティ～The Tokyo Marathon 2024 Charity

2024年3月3日（日）、東京マラソン2024が開催されました。プラン・インターナショナルがチャリティ寄付先団体となって参加するのは13回目。プランの「世界の女の子に、生きていく力を。教育や自立を支援して早すぎる結婚にNOを！」にご賛同くださった国内外のチャリティランナーは、過去最多の238名となりました。

The Tokyo Marathon 2024 was held on Sunday, March 3. This was the 13th time that Plan International participated as a charity donor organization. 238 charity runners took part, under the banner of “Run for Girls! Empower Girls Around the World. Support Education and Independence and Say NO to Early Marriage!” This was the largest number of participants ever.

当日は朝から快晴、気温も上昇し、マラソン日和となりました。ランナーは9時10分に都庁からスタート。国内からは、「女の子の母親となってからプランの活動が目に留まるようになり、東京マラソンに初挑戦した」という女性や、海外からは、「人生の大半を走ってきてまだまだチャレンジする姿を見せたい」という70代の女性も参加しました。

今年は、増田明美さんのパートナーである木脇祐二さんや、げんき～ず・宇野けんたろうさん（うのけん）がプランのチャリティランナーとして走り、レースを盛り上げてくださいました。それぞれのランナーが次世代の女の子に力になりたいとの共通の思いを胸に、フィニッシュラインを目指しました。
また、プランのご支援者やランナーのご家族の方々も、プランのスタッフと一緒に沿道3カ所で精いっぱい声援を送りました。

The weather on the day of the marathon was perfect, with a clear sky and comfortable temperature. The runners started at 9:10 a.m. from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. Participants included a first-time marathon-runner from Japan who became involved with our organization after she became a mother of a girl, as well as a woman in her 70s from overseas who said she had been running most of her life and wanted to show that she was still up to the challenge.
With a unified vision to help the next generation of girls, each runner crossed the finish line.
Plan supporters and runners’ families, along with Plan staff, cheered enthusiastically at three points along the course.
