Tokyo Marathon 2027 Charity: ‘Run for girls!’ Your support is needed!
Towards a society where everyone is equal! Support education and independence and give girls more choices in life.
Tokyo Marathon 2027 will be held on March 7, 2027, and Plan International will once again participate as a charity organization for the event.
Applications for donations and charity runners started on Wednesday, June 24, 2026. Plan International is again developing projects under the banner "Run for girls! Towards a society where everyone is equal! Support education and independence and give girls more choices in life". in Asia, Africa, and Latin America to solve various problems that hinder the future of girls. By running as a Charity Runner for Plan International and by supporting our activities, you will be helping girls around the world to have the power to live to their fullest.
What is the Tokyo Marathon Charity?
The Tokyo Marathon Charity is operated to encourage runners and other supporters of the Tokyo Marathon to think about social contribution and to connect their individual hearts to society.
Those who choose an organization to support and make a donation over a certain amount are eligible to participate in the Tokyo Marathon as charity runners to promote their charity activities. We have received warm support and endorsement from Charity Runners and supporters in the past 15 events so far.
How to Join the Tokyo Marathon 2027 Charity
Participating in the Charity is now being accepted. There are two ways to participate.
【Participation as a Charity Runner】
Those who donate 150,000 JPY or more (220,000 JPY or more per person for group participation) to support the Plan's activities are eligible to participate as Charity Runners. Plan will select Charity Runners from among the applicants based on our criteria.

- Application Procedures & Schedule

- Plan will select Charity Runners from among the applicants. Those who are selected as runners will be notified by email between July 14 (Tue.) and 17 (Fri.)
- Once you have been notified, follow the guidance in emails you will receive to make your donation and complete the entry registration.

Donation: August 10 (Mon.) at 5:00 p.m. (JST)
Entry registration and the Tokyo Marathon Charity entry fee: August 13 (Thu.) at 5:00 p.m. (JST) - Our Charity Runner Decision Criteria

- ① Individuals: Donations need to be at least 150,000 yen; Companies/Groups: 220,000 yen or more per person (Not guaranteed to be selected as Charity Runners; more than two people are considered a group. Please inquire in advance)
- ② Priority for Repeat Participants and Supporters (25 spots): For those who have previously been Charity Runners for Plan International, as well as current ongoing supporters and affiliates of Plan International. For others, will be selected based on ③.
- ③ Selected based on the content of the "Thoughts on Charity & Messages." If the amount of donation is the same, we will place more importance on the content of the “Thoughts and Message to the Charity.” (We may also ask runners for their cooperation with our PR activities, such as posting on our social networks and appearing in Plan International’s publications, on an ad hoc basis).
- ※Runners’ selection is not on a ‘first-come, first-served basis.’
- ※Donations can only be made by credit card, Amazon Pay.
- ※Donations to Plan International Japan, a public interest incorporated foundation, are eligible for tax benefits in Japan.
- Entry Fee
In addition to the donation, the entry fee for Tokyo Marathon 2027 Charity is required. Overseas 230 USD, Domestic 19,800 JPY
【Participation by Donation Only】
It is possible to make donations without applying to run in the Marathon. All donations will be recognized as part of the Tokyo Marathon 2027 Charity program.

About Our Objectives
Girls in developing countries live in poverty while being deprived of access to education and health services because "they are girls," and are relegated to the lowest classes of society. Plan International will provide support through a multi-faceted approach so that girls can acquire the "strength to live." This will include developing educational environments that are friendly to girls in countries across Asia, Africa and Central and South America, as well as educational activities and advocacy prevent early forced marriage and pregnancy and pregnancy, and protecting girls from customs and traditions that threaten their physical and mental health. Specifically, we will carry out activities that offer both tangibles, such as creating schools where girls can go with peace of mind, as well as intangibles like advocacy and training. We will also help to create environments where girls and women can continue to live with dignity even after our projects are completed.
